The best source of impartial, up to date, accurate UK and world news available on the World Wide Web is (of course) the BBC. The BBC also have a headline ticker, that you can download to your computer to receive headline news as long as you are connected to the Internet. For business news try Digitallook Radio As well as having
an excellent website, you can also hear continuous live broadcasts online,
from BBC Radio 1,2,3,4 and 5, as well as the World Service at BBC
Radio. This will allow you to hear the broadcasts while you surf
the net at other sites, as long as you have a sound card on your computer.
Otherwise you will have to listen on short wave to the BBC World Service,
or on FM in Singapore.The BBC website
also have detailed information on schedules and broadcast frequencies
for radio, cable and satellite broadcasts of the World Service. Television If you want to receive BBC TV, then you may find some suppliers have BBC Choice (selected feature programmes) or BBC News 24. They are available in most countries either on cable or satellite. If this is important to you, it may pay to enquire of local cable or satellite companies, before you confirm exactly where you live. Unfortunately, a few countries do not allow satellite reception, or not that which includes the BBC. In which case, CNN is the probably a reasonable alternative, if the local news is not enough for you.
